The Harvest Warriors
Everything you see around you, the stars, moon, sun, the earth and all the wonderful things on it, did not “just happen.” The incredible beauty and complexity of the vast creation in which we live, testifies to us that there exists a Being who is powerful, intelligent and vast, beyond anything we can comprehend. We call this Being, “God.” God is the one who created the universe and everything in it, including us human beings.
Fortunately for us, this God is a God of love and justice. He is “Holy,” that is, there is no evil nor darkness in Him at all. Why did God create us? Because He wants friendship and communication with us. We Christians call this “fellowship.” However, man rebelled against God and chose to do evil. If you are honest, you will have to admit that every one of us has done evil and wrong. Take the simplest of the ten simple commandments given by God to the human race — “You shall not lie.” Every one of us has violated that commandment! Many times, in fact. Christians have a term for these wrong deeds, we call them “sins.”
Because God is totally “holy,” the sins of the human race create a huge problem. Sin separates us from God, and we deserve to be punished for our sins. If we are honest, every one of us knows that we have done wrong, and that we deserve to pay for the wrong things we have done.
What is the payment for our sins? The just punishment is an eternity separated from God in a place of utter torment. God calls this place “Hell.” Hell is a real place! God does not want human beings to go to Hell, but if our sins are not paid for, because He is a God of complete justice, we will have to go there. BUT, there is good news.
God knew that man could never do enough to pay for his sins, and He also knew that it was impossible for man to live a life completely without sin. So, being the God of love that He is, God decided that He would come down to earth, take on a human body, live a perfect life free from sin, and then pay the price in full for all the sins human beings had, or would, commit. The Christian Bible tells the story of how God came to earth as Jesus. Jesus did many miracles to demonstrate that He is God, and eventually died a terrible death on a cross. The suffering and death and shedding of the blood of Jesus paid the price for our sins. Jesus’ physical body died, but because He is also God, the grave could not hold Him. On the third day, He rose again back to life. Jesus is still very much alive today, and resides in Heaven. BUT, He is very busy here on earth. He is in the business of saving souls, and changing lives.
So How do you Avoid Going to Hell After You Die?
The Bible says in Romans 10:9 that “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
You Must Be Saved to Avoid hell
How do you obtain salvation, or “get saved?” You have a choice to make. You decide, by your own free will, that you are making Jesus Christ your God, and that you will serve Him all the rest of your life. You decide that you accept the truth that Jesus Christ IS God, and that He DID pay the price on the cross for your sins, and DID raise from the dead, and that He DOES still live and dwell in heaven.
The First Key to Salvation is your Free Will Choice
If you make this choice right now, then you need to talk to God about it. You must “confess with your mouth” as the Bible says. We call talking to God, “praying.” If you want to be saved, open your mouth right now, speak out loud, and pray the following prayer. THINK about what your are saying, and MEAN it with your whole heart.
“Father God, in the name of Jesus, I want to tell You now that I have made the choice. YOU are my God. Jesus Christ is my God. I accept as truth that Jesus paid the price for all my sins on the cross. I acknowledge to you that I have done many wrong things. I am a sinner! I repent for those sins and ask you to forgive them and wash them all away with the precious blood of Jesus. Lord Jesus, I now make you my God, and I ask You to come into my heart and life. Change me Lord, teach me to hear your voice and to live pleasing to you. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit. I thank you God for accepting me and saving me, in the name of Jesus Christ.”
Now you need to speak to Satan and command him out of your life:
“Satan and you demons, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus Christ. I command you to get out of my life right now and forever! I renounce you out of my life right now and forever! I will no longer serve you, I hereby choose to make God my Master and not you!”
Now Begin to Learn About God
You must spend at least one hour each day reading and studying the Bible. We recommend you go to your local Christian bookstore and obtain what is called a “Spirit Filled Life Bible” in the New King James Version. Write this down and take it to the bookstore, they will show you what we are talking about. This is a wonderful study Bible that will answer most of your questions. When you sit down to read, pray first and ask God the Father, in the name of Jesus, to teach you from His Word and help you to understand what you read. Start out by reading the book of Luke, then John, then Acts and Romans, then the rest.
Scriptures Leading to Salvation
We did not quote a lot of the Bible above because we wanted to keep it simple. But, here are some of the Bible verses that lead you to salvation. We call the Bible “Scripture.” The Bible is divided into chapters and verses so you can find your way around in it. When a verse is quoted, the reference is given as first the name of the book, then the chapter number followed by a colon, then the verse.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
“For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
“But God commanded His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
“That is you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that god raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.: Romans 10:13
